BMW Repair Shop

When you invest some of your hard-earned cash on a BMW, you’re buying into a foreign marquee that has class, power and graceful handling underneath. You need top quality BMW repair shop on the maintenance side of things, however, warrants some deep thinking in light of new developments, the New York Times’ Cheryl Jensen says.

For some buyers, a new vehicle’s allure goes beyond handling, styling and prestige: They parse the terms of the warranty and even whether maintenance is covered. Some BMW enthusiasts were surprised this summer when the automaker announced limitations on the transfer of its four-year or 50,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan when a car goes to a subsequent buyer.

Bimmer enthusiasts, including the ones in Florida, may be miffed at the changes in policy. The Sunshine State has a lot of owners clubs up and down the Panhandle, and you would be mesmerized at the variety of BMWs each club has. If you recently bought a BMW from a preowned car dealership or a private seller (who’s not an immediate family member), and worry about maintenance in light of the new policy, a BMW repair company like Auto Works of Brandon can be your ally.

Keeping it in the family

The BMW policy, which went into effect on July 1, 2014, will cover all BMWs starting the 2015 model year. It states that the complimentary maintenance program will only apply if the original owner passed on the vehicle to a son/daughter, sibling, current/former spouse, domestic partner, or grandparents/grandchildren. When asked for the rationale behind the change, BMW-North America business communications manager Kenn Sparks said the program costs the company millions of dollars every year, and is meant to help the original owner maximize the benefits of the program.

Service interval program

The owners of the most recent Bimmers may have really gone the distance with their vehicles, but a thing or two could cause problems that would prompt them to take the car to the shop. A BMW service in Tampa would refer to the automaker’s maintenance schedule system to properly determine what to do with the car. The service interval program includes an oil change, a highly comprehensive service checkup, and another session detailing other major issues to be resolved.

BMW owners agree that, whether it’s a Z10 ED, an M6, or even a 1M Coupe, a Bimmer knows no age as long as you put a good deal of effort and money into maintaining it. Let BMW repair shop experts like Auto Works of Brandon show you the way.
